I’ve lived in three locations over my life. Born in Valparaiso, Indiana, I lived in a small out-of the-way community close to there until I was fourteen. We moved to Independence, Missouri just in time for me to start high school.  I stayed in Independence for the next fifteen years before moving here to Cincinnati, Ohio in 2001. Finally I moved back to Independence in March of 2010.

I was raised in a Christian home by two of the most awesome parents I could have asked for. Mom and Dad are still happily married after over 44 years.

I’ve devoted my entire adult life to helping emotionally disturbed kids. It’s been both rewarding and frustrating, but ultimately worth it. Don’t get me wrong-I’m no selfless saint. I’ve found that I’m more fulfilled when I’m focusing on helping others.
